Why, SYF in 34 days, 9 hours, 45 minutes, 37 seconds!
825 hours!
49545 minutes!
2972698 seconds!

All of us must add lots and lots of oil, and work hard, and whatever result we get on that day will be well-deserved. If its a gold, it will be a good, solid gold.

On one of my routine stalking expeditions, I came across these words of wisdom, none other by our very own snco cellobass.

"Okay, and remember to MOVEEEEEEEE while playing, esp the set piece. MOVEEEEEEEEEE with the music, MOVEEEEEEEEEE as your bow goes up and down up and down. Feel the music in you, feel it running through your head, through your heart."

"SO FEEL THE MUSIC MORE AND MOVE YO, MOVE!"

And they do move, very well as a matter of fact. Let's learn from them and play from our HEARTSSS<3. To really "feel the music in you", and to truly, SINCERELY want to show the judges and the world your passion for music, your passion for daji, your passion for co! The MUSICCCCC.

Here's some really great info on our exotic rare choice piece, from http://info.guqu.net/OtherMingqu/20090723160612_26107.html (click for more!)

Weak translation: The composer depicts the behaviors and states of being, and also the grandeur and power of WATER:D! through the various sounds of water

Total of four movements
①“瀑布”:用一个特定的和声通过多组乐器在不同位置上的参差进入,使音响的层次和厚度不断扩大增强,描绘了山泉由少到多、最后终于汇成瀑布一泻而下的情 景。接着,以瀑布音响为背景,低音弦乐器奏出宽广挺拔而丰富变化的主题,抒发了作者面对壮观的大瀑布所产生的种种感受和联想;

First movement: The Waterfall. The entrances of different sections of instruments at different times, which continuously expands and develop the layers and texture of the music depicts the water increasing in volume (from less-more!), and eventually forming a waterfall with water flowing down. After that, the sounds of the waterfall become a background and the lower string instruments play a broad and sounding melody with rich variation. This expresses the composers feelings and thoughts when he is faced with the grand waterfall.

Second movement: Water of the Lake. This movement is calm and quiet, yet colourful and imaginative. The triangle, muyu and bo (our dear diaocha) s' plays a continuous jumping background while the gu qin (replaced by our di yin zheng) plays the simple, yet teeming with tradition and culture, melody, expressing the lake and its deep, relaxing and peaceful waters.

Third movement: The Stream! Quick and lively, this movement describes the image of many flowing streams merging and separating, and also at the same time progressing forward. At the end (bar 293 there, the composer uses overlapping tonality to conclude all themes. Most importantly, this is actually depicting the beautiful, magnificent and very very! grand scene of many of the little streams rushing together to merge and sprint towards the big blue sea.

Fourth movement: THE SEA! The strings, split into over 20 different sections, and also forming with other instruments to create blocks of sound, plus our daji instruments, depict the TSUNAMI!'s grandeur and power. The theme is solemn yet steady, loud, grand, very very majestic, with momentum and spirit. (I'm guessing zhong guan is yun luo?) The music is huge and powerful waves, and the whole piece comes to its climax, ending with a shocking, earthshaking and extremely impactful sound of a giant wave.

I really feel better after this analysis. I really feel that I can understand the piece better! Okay you know what I should make everyone read this hahahaha to get the "feel" of shui zhi sheng :D And must bear all of this in mind while playing. Don't you find that this piece has so much more meaning now :) READ THIS!

My lovelies, let us do our best for syf. Stretch and stretch our limits because ultimately the result we get are not for the school, not for Ms Chan, but for liu ls (yes, I'm saying this), for wei ls, and for OURSELVES :) ALL THE WAYYY!

Lots of love and oil from Wensie!

P/S this feels totally like persuasive speech LOL
P/P/S and I'm really sorry for screwing up all the time. I'm trying, hope I won't die tomorrow.
